The rapid evo­lu­tion of tele­health has been one of the most trans­for­ma­tive shifts in mod­ern med­i­cine. Ac­cel­er­at­ed by ne­ces­si­ty, vir­tu­al care promised a fu­ture of greater pa­tient ac­cess, re­duced over­head, and en­hanced clin­i­cian flex­i­bil­i­ty. And in many ways, it de­liv­ered. For pa­tients in re­mote ar­eas or those man­ag­ing chron­ic con­di­tions, the ease of a video vis­it has been rev­o­lu­tion­ary.

How­ev­er, for the clin­i­cal work­force, this evo­lu­tion has pre­sent­ed a dif­fi­cult para­dox. While the po­ten­tial for flex­i­bil­i­ty ex­ists, the re­al­i­ty of poor­ly in­te­grat­ed sys­tems has, in many cas­es, am­pli­fied the ex­ist­ing cri­sis of clin­i­cal burnout.
